Cam Cadi is awesome. You can have any rig, they cost a lot money, but depending on what you are looking to do cam cadi is the biggest bang for the loswet amount. I use it for film making and filming spots like skateing and bmx.

I use a canon 600d/t3i with an 8mm Samyang fisheye and its dope! definitely recommend the 600d for a beginner action sports filmmaker

I think a GoPro is definitely a good place to start because they're rugged and can be used in almost any situation, but there are for sure a ton of accessories and expensive professional options available!
